Need help getting started, accessing the test lab
network, or with the lessons themselves?
ISECOM supports the schools and licensed users via
mailing lists,
and Hacker Highschool Teacher training. We also have a small FAQ here to
help you:
How do I get started?
You
will need the lesson workbooks, computers with
internet connections, and access to the on-line test lab.
School teachers of students at elementary schools, high schools, or home
schools just need to download the lesson books
and contact us
hhs<at>isecom.org for access to the test lab network to support the
lessons.
Others, not school teachers, may want to check with
licensing first regarding use of the lessons and the test lab network. Students can visit the
student support
page.
Which other schools are using HHS?
We don't keep a list of participating schools or organizations. However, you
can subscribe to the HHS mailing list and ask for yourself.
What kind of equipment do we need to
do this?
We recommend you have at least 1 computer for every 2 students so they can
work in pairs. While some of the lessons are OS agnostic, we recommend
using Live Linux CDs on the PC for best results. Live Linux CDs allow you
to boot off of the CD into a Linux operating system without affecting the
current operating system at all as it runs completely off the CD. You can
download and burn the CD yourself from any Live Linux distribution website.
What is the HHST certification?
ISECOM provides the Hacker Highschool Teacher certification exam which
recognizes individuals who have proven the capability and attitude to teach HHS to school-age children. You will shown competency at how to set up the HHS classroom and network, work with kids and teens, and discuss and explain
the lesson books. You can find a course in your area at the
ISECOM
schedule page.

Can we get this as a package with
materials and all included?
We will be announcing the release of the classroom package in the near
future. Please consult the mailing list for the latest information.
